FIELD DAY & 3rd of July celebration! :)

Tuesday - we decided to have a fun day with the kiddos!  We wanted to get them donuts - so we decided to turn "donut day" into FIELD DAY!

We had a blast - it was a time full of laughter and fun ... which is exactly what these kiddos deserved!

Here are some pictures of our games, etc.

Started the morning with gathering together for a devotional

Opening in Prayer - this makes me cry everytime I look at it!

Singing praises to the King! :)

I shared a devotional with the kids - and Roberta translated

Sharing the devotional
Egg & Spoon race - showing them how to play

Sweet Gabriella :)

Sarai & William

3 legged race - these girls were so funny to watch!

More 3 legged races

Too cute

Soda Bottle Bowling

They loved this!

Teaching them how to play "Pato, Pato, Gonso"
Duck Duck Goose :)

They loved this game, too!

Boy from the neighborhood
I mentioned before that the school is in one of the poorest neighborhoods in Tegucigalpa.  This barefoot little fella walked up and joined in on our games for the day.  He had so much fun!

We took a break after a few hours and had donuts and juice - the kids were so excited for their treat!

handing out juice

Loving her donut :)
After the donut break - we were right back to the field for more games!  This half of the day was full of balloons - balloon animals and water balloons! :)

After we spent some time doing more games, Aben turned the kids on Daniel with the rest of the water balloons.  It was hillarious to see almost 50 kids running and chasing Daniel ... he eventually gave in a ran back towards the group to make it fun for them!  It was hillarious!

When he first realized what was going on ...

Action shot!

Catching some in mid air

Kids were loving it

Look at those smiles!

He was soaked!
After the water balloon fight, the water did not stop there.  Daniel ended up in a water battle with one of the teachers ... they were getting each other back and forth.  The picture below is when Daniel snuck up on her while she was talking to the other teachers - it  is a classic :)

Screaming!

More Water fight :)
This was defintely a time with the kiddos that we will never forget!  When we packed up to leave for the day, they kept asking us if we could do it again tomorrow!  It was so cute - they really enjoyed themselves.  Especially getting to soak the "gringo" with the water balloons - what fun!

We came home to clean up and get some things taken care of around the apartment.  That evening, our friends threw us a 4th of July party!  It was so sweet - they wanted to celebrate with us since we could not be at home to celebrate.  It was our "3rd of July celebration" and we were so thankful!

Here are some pictures from the party!

Four of us in the back seat - Ana is beside me but hidden behind our driver, Aben :)

Not sure what happened - but this picture allowed for some serious laughs :)

Whole Group :)

Us with Gabbie - our host :)
We had a great day - full of laughter and fun!  We are so grateful for the people that the Lord has brought into our lives here in Honduras ... we know that we have made lifelong friends.

Three weeks from tomorrow - we will be heading home.  It's hard to believe that our time here is coming to a close - but we know that three weeks is still plenty of time for the Lord to do mighty things!

We miss our family, friends, and pups more than ever.  We are excited to get home to share our stories and experiences with you - it will be here before we know it! :)
